Five people attended the first meeting of the Esperanto Club of Hampton Roads, including a two-year-old boy who is a likely candidate to become one of the comparatively few native speakers of the language. We had a great time getting to know each other, and practicing Esperanto, which is new for all of us. For now, we’re continuing to meet every other Friday night at Fair Grounds Coffee, on the second floor of Texture 806 Baldwin Ave. Norfolk, VA. Come and join us!

Please note however, that the next meeting will being at 6:30 pm instead of 7:00

Kvin homoj ĉeestis la unuan kunvenon de la Espertanto-Klubo de Hampton Roads, eĉ du-jarula knabeto, kiu povas iĝi unu el la malmulta denaskaj Esperanto-parolantoj. Ni ĝuis ekkoni unu la alian kaj paroli Esperante, kiu estas io nova por ni ĉiuj. Por nun, ni rekunvenos je ĉiu dua vendredo, ĉe Fair Grounds Kafejo, en la dua etaĝo de la butiko “Texture.” 806 Baldwin Ave. Norfolk, VA. Venu kaj lernu kun ni!

There’s enough interest now to announce the club. A friend and I met together a week ago, and tossed around some ideas on what our E-o gatherings might look like; then I heard from another interested party that they’ll come to the next meeting. In addition, Kat, the leader of the previous local group, is going to inform the members of the former group about our new startup.

Nun estas sufiĉe intereso por anonci la klubon. Amiko kaj mi konvenis pasintsemajne, kaj babilis pri kiel ŝajnus nian E-on kunvenojn. Tiam, mi aŭdis de aliaj interesitoj, ke ili venos al la venonta kunveno. Ankaŭ, Kat, la estro de la pasintan lokan grupon, diros la membrojn de la eksa grupo pri nia nova klubo.
