We’ll be meeting at Fairgrounds Coffee at 7:00 pm on May 8th and 23rd, and June 6th, 13th, and 27th. Please note that May 8th is a Saturday and not our usual Sunday. (May 9th is Mother’s Day and June 20 is Father’s Day.)

Also: Jon and Nick will be in Washington DC for the Esperanto-USA congress on Memorial Day weekend. Hope to meet you there!

Ni kunvenos ĉe Kafejo Fairgrounds je 7:00 ptm en la 8a k 23a de Majo, k en la 6a, 13a, k 19a de Junio. Bonvole, rimarku, ke la 8a de Majo estas sabato, ne la kutima dimanĉo. (La 9a estas Patrinotago, k la 20a estas Patrotago.)

During October and November, we’ll be meeting at Fairgrounds Coffee every other Sunday at 7:00 pm.

We’ll have meetings on the 11th and 25th of October, and the 1st and 15th of November. Please note that we won’t meet on the 29th of November because of the Thanksgiving weekend.

Dum oktobro kaj novembro, ni kunvenos ĉe Kafejo Fairgrounds je 7:00 ptm en ĉiu dua dimanĉo.

Because of the Labor Day celebrations this weekend, the Esperanto Club of Hampton Roads won’t be meeting on Sunday, September 6.

Our schedule for the rest of the month will be as follows:
September 13th, 20th, and 27th, we’ll meet at 7:00 pm at FairGrounds Coffee in Norfolk, at the corner of Colley Avenue and Baldwin Avenue.

Gerda Malaperis at new location and time

We’ll be meeting at Jon’s place Sunday, June 28th, to watch Gerda Malaperis, the excellent film based on Claude Piron’s mystery novela. The address is 930 Spotswood Ave. Apt D2 Norfolk, VA. Also, please note we’ll begin at 6:30 pm.

Depending on interest, we might also meet July 5th at the same location to watch it without subtitles. Or maybe not. Watch this space for information.

I apologize for the lack of posts the last few months. Yes, we’re still meeting, and it’s still Sundays at 7:00 at FairGrounds (and we might be outgrowing it soon!) I also apologize for the delay in setting up the new site. I’m working on it again, and it should be operational soon. The URL will be bonege.com (with esperantosource.com as another domain name) but please don’t visit it until it’s ready. I’ll let you know!

Mi pardonpetas por la manko de afiŝoj dum la lastaj monatoj. Jes, ni ankoraŭ kunvenas, kaj ankoraŭ dimanĉe je 7:00 ĉe FairGrounds (kaj eble ni baldaŭ bezonos pli da spaco!) Ankaŭ, pardonpetas mi por la laborhalto pri la nova retejo. Sed mi relaboras pri tion, kaj baldaŭ ĝi funkcios. La retadreso estos bonege.com (kun esperantosource.com kiel alia adreso) sed bonvolu ne vizitu ĝin ĝis ĝi pretas. Mi vin informos!

Getting Closer!

The new site for The Esperanto Club of Hampton Roads will launch later this week. Unlike the present site, our club notes and schedules will be only a small part of the new site, which will mostly be structured as an “Esperanto source” for English speakers interested in the other international language.

La nova retejo por La Esperanto-Klubo de Hampton Roads ekstaros ĉi-semajne. Malsimila al la nuna retejo, nia kluba notoj kaj dataroj nur estos malgranda parto de la nova retejo, kiu estos “Esperanta fonto” de informo por anglaparolantoj kiuj interesiĝas pri la alia internacia lingvo.

To Montreal! Montrealen!

It’s official–I’m going to Montreal in a couple of weeks for the 7th Pan-American Esperanto Convention (“TAKE 7″ in Esperanto). I’ve got my passport in hand, train ticket purchased, and lodgings reserved (very affordably!) at UQAM, the University of Quebec at Montreal. I’ve always enjoyed travel, and to say I’m greatly looking forward to this trip is an understatement!

Oficialas! En du semajnoj, mi iros Montrealen por la 7a Tut-Amerika Esperanta Kongreso (TAKE 7). Mi prete havas mian pasporton, mia trajnbileto estas pagita, kaj mia loĝigoj rezervitas malplikoste ĉe UQAM, la Universitato de Kebeko ĉe Montrealo. Mi ĉiam ĝuis vojaĝi, kaj oni ne povas troigi kiel mi antaĝuas ĉi-tiu vojaĝon!
